Joelynn Donough joined the RHD staff in the summer of 2011 as a project manager specializing in livestock accounts. She is also a creative assistant for advertising and editorial director of The American Brahman Review publication. Joelynn also serves as the lead writer on the RHD team and one of our two staff photographers.
This Pennsylvania native has been active in the livestock industry since day one. Her family raises club lambs, but her heart has always been with cattle. She was a member of the national junior Shorthorn and Maine Anjou associations and hopes to one day move her small herd of cows to Texas. Joelynn is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where she was a member of the 2009 livestock judging team. She received her bachelor’s in agricultural journalism and communications in 2010. Joelynn also attended Butler Community College in Kansas on a livestock judging scholarship before transferring to Texas A&M University.
After graduation, Joelynn worked for ShowChampions USA, Inc., a world renowned livestock photography company. While with ShowChampions, Joelynn traveled across the country, picturing major stock shows as well as on-site sessions. She has taken the skills learned from ShowChampions to expand the photography offering at Ranch House, specializing in bull, donor cow and club calf picturing. In addition, Joelynn has freelanced for livestock magazines such as The Showbox, The Show Circuit and – before hire – the American Brahman Review, as a staff writer.
Since joining our team, Joelynn has represented Ranch House Designs at major livestock events both in Texas and nationwide. She also makes frequent farm and ranch visits to clients locations to help build their image databases. In 2011, she served as a guest lecturer for Texas A&M University's livestock marketing class and also was an invited speaker to the Texas 4-H Photography Workshop Series. She enjoys judging livestock shows and accompanying her fiance, Joe Rathmann, on livestock trips across the state.
Joelynn lives in Wharton, Texas with her camera, running shoes and endless supply of fictional novels, which in her mind, is all she could ever need. |
