Rachel Cutrer is the President and Creative Director at Ranch House Designs, Inc.®. Since 1999, Rachel has led the creative and business efforts of RHD, establishing the businesses as the worldwide leader in livestock advertising. Under her direction and foresight, RHD has been named a four-time winner of the Aggie 100 award from Texas A&M University and she has personally earned numerous awards and accolades for her creative talents and business vision.

Rachel received her bachelor's in animal science from Texas A&M University, where she enjoyed working with many national leaders including Dr. John McNeill and Dr. Larry Boleman, two mentors who greatly shaped her professional career. After graduation, Rachel left her Texas home for the opportunity to study under Dr. Harlan Ritchie and Dr. Dave Hawkins at Michigan State University. During her two years in East Lansing, she was a writer for the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station, where several of her stories were picked up by the AP. She worked on communications projects for the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Department of Animal Science, and Michigan Cattleman’s Association. She also taught weekly labs in advertising and public relations. Rachel loved her time as a Spartan, where she had season nosebleed tickets to Spartan basketball games, and made lifelong friendships with fellow students who are key leaders in agriculture.

After completing her M.S., Rachel joined the staff of Texas A&M as marketing coordinator for the Department of Animal Science. As marketing director, she coordinated the “Century of Success” 100th Anniversary of Animal Science as well as handled the department's PR, communications, web site, media relations, and alumni relations.

After two years at A&M, took the risk of leaving her full time job to begin Ranch House Designs, Inc®. Since then, she developed RHD into a thriving company that serves thousands of clients worldwide. Even though her business has greatly grown over the past five years, Rachel still finds time to create many of the preliminary designs for each client. Her agency has won 32 national design awards, with 25 of those being designs created by Rachel herself. Rachel also manages the firms international client base which includes accounts in Canada, Mexico, South America, Central America, and Australia.

Rachel is recognized as a national expert in livestock advertising and has been an invited speaker at numerous educational conferences including serving as a guest lecturer at Texas A&M University and an invited speaker at the TAMU Beef Cattle Short Course and San Antonio Farm and Ranch Expo discussing marketing strategies for ranchers. Rachel is also a contributor to Brahman News: The World, an international Brahman cattle publication based out of Brasil. Rachel is the author of the popular book - Livestock Merchandising, and the writer of the Modern Livestock Merchandising series, a marketing column that appears in many leading livestock publications.

Rachel credits her success to the Lord, along with with solid foundations earned through a mix of education and experience...and a lot of hard work! As a young person, she was extremely active in youth agricultural organizations including serving as president of the American Junior Shorthorn and president of the Texas Junior Livestock Association. She was a chapter, district, and area FFA officer, and state winner of the Texas FFA Public Relations Contest. Her beef cattle activities and leadership skills helped her win the coveted Texas FFA State Star Greenhand Award, Texas FFA State Chapter Farmer Award, Texas FFA State Finalist for Star Lone Star Farmer, and her American Farmer Degree. She also was the Texas FFA Beef Proficiency Award Winnner in 1997. As a student at Texas A&M, she was named the Block & Bridle Outstanding Freshman, Outstanding Junior, and a two year club officer. She served as a three-year member of the College of Agriculture Student Council and was the 4th Place National Block and Bridle Club Outstanding Junior. At Michigan State University, she graduated with a 4.0 and was named Outstanding Graduate Student in her department.

Rachel's biggest blessing in life comes from her family - her husband Brandon Cutrer and their daughter, Mollie Jo Cutrer, who was born in April 2011 and named in honor of Rachel's grandmother, Mollie Williams. The Cutrer's are very active in volunteer and leadership activities in the beef industry, especially in the NCBA and American Brahman Breeders Association. Rachel currently serves as a member of the ABBA executive board and is serving her 6th year as chairman of the youth advisory committee. Brandon and Rachel own and manage 200 head of cattle including registered Brahman cattle and Brahman F-1 tiger stripes. They are members of the Abell Street Church of Christ.
